Unite for Trans Rights!
In recent years, we have witnessed a surge in discriminatory bills and horrifying physical attacks targeting transgender individuals. We refuse to stay silent in the face of such hatred and violence. All across our nation, every state except Delaware introduced legislation in 2023 that would negatively impact transgender individuals rights. From Kansas, where Senate Bill No. 12 sets a minimum age of 21 to access gender affirming care, to Florida where SB 254 has granted the state the power to kidnap transgender youth, to Texas where Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 3 plainly states the Assembly will work to ban gender affirming care, to Nebraska where state Senator Machaela Cavanuagh had spent over three weeks filibustering every piece of legislation as protest to anti-trans legislation. To add insult to injury, the powers that be have begun to punish dissenting opinions, as the Nebraska state Senator Megan Hunt has faced an ethics investigation for voting no on an anti-trans bill; and Montana Representative Zooey Zephyr, an openly transgender lawmaker, was censured and barred from being on the House floor, anteroom and gallery, effectively preventing her from performing her duties. These are not poor decisions, these are acts of genocide, these are crimes against humanity. We should not have to fight for our lives in the Land of the Free.
On November 20th, the Transgender Day of Remembrance, at 10am we will walk the streets of DC to the Reflecting Pool to demand Federal protections for all trans people that would prevent states from passing anti-trans legislature, protect access to gender affirming care and banning the use of trans-panic defense in court, and that our federal agencies and courts enforce the current protections. We also aim to urge Congress to prosecute these crimes against humanity, and to pay homage to those who gave their lives for our freedom and those who lost their lives to acts of extremist transphobia.

There is not yet funding for bail or for protection, there is a risk that extremists will see this as an opportunity to attack and therefore there is risk of great bodily harm or worse. By attending you are agreeing you were informed of this risk and agree not to hold the organizers or their sponsors liable.
